Using Wire Transfer Service

What is the cut-off time for submitting wire transfers?

All domestic wire transfers submitted prior to 5:00 PM EST will be processed the same business day. All international Wire Transfers submitted before 3:00 PM EST will be processed the same business day.

How will I know if a wire transfer that our company initiated is returned to us?

You can view the status and history of your wire transfer from the Wire Summary page in Business Online Banking Advantage.

How can I verify that the account and transit routing number(s) are valid before I initiate a wire transfer?

You should contact the beneficiary bank to verify the account and transit routing number.

What happens if I submit a wire transfer over the weekend or on a holiday?

Financial institutions vary on how they handle wire transfers submitted on a non-business day. First Citizens will process the wire transfers on the next business day following the weekend or holiday.

Once I submit a wire transfer on BOB Advantage, how do I know that it has been processed by First Citizens?

When you initially submit the wire transfer, you will see a Status of "Backend Pending". When the First Citizens wire room picks up the wire transfer for processing, the status will change to Acknowledged. Acknowledged simply means that the wire has been picked up for processing. It does not mean that the wire has been sent to the beneficiary bank. You can be set up to receive an email or fax notification which confirms that the wire has been sent to the beneficiary bank.

What do I do if the beneficiary bank claims non-receipt?

You will need to send us a secure message in Business Online Banking Advantage or contact BOB Advantage Customer Support at 1-888-612-4444. We will then place a trace on the wire to assist the recipient bank in locating the funds.
