First Citizens Opens Two New Branches in Augusta
Augusta, GA– First Citizens Bancorporation, Inc., announced that it will open two of five new branches in Augusta, Ga., on Feb. 20, 2008. Located on 3602 Walton Way Extension in Augusta, and 4065 Columbia Road in Martinez, the branch offices will offer a full line of retail, business, and wealth management services. For additional convenience, both locations have 24-hour ATMs and extended drive-through banking services until 6 p.m. on Fridays. The Walton’s Corner branch also has Saturday lobby and drive-though hours from 9 a.m. to noon. Three additional branches will be constructed by the end of 2009.
The 3,000 square-foot Martinez branch will have seven employees, and the 3,500 square-foot Walton’s Corner branch will have six employees to serve customers. Market Executive Kelley Mobley, who will oversee all branches in the Augusta and North Augusta area, and the commercial business development team, brings more than 15 years of banking experience to his role. “For nearly a century, First Citizens has provided Southeastern customers with an exceptional level of service and personal attention,” said Mobley. “Our new customers in the Augusta area will also receive local decision-making and access to a community bank with more than $6 billion in assets, which gives us the scalability to meet the needs of individuals, small business owners, wealth clients, and commercial enterprises,” he said.
Three distinguished leaders from the Augusta community have been named to the First Citizens advisory council. They are: Dr. David B. Carter, Carter Orthodontics; Dr. Thomas A. Parfenchuck, Orthopaedic Associates of Augusta; and Winston A. Hogan, CPA, partner, The Cleveland Group. The council members will provide guidance to First Citizens management on a wide range of issues, including business development, strategic initiatives, and creating customized services that meet the needs of healthcare-related professionals. “I am thrilled to be affiliated with a financial institution whose goals and strategies will address the growing needs of the Augusta medical community. It is an honor to be involved with their entry into this market,” said Parfenchuck.
“It is a privilege for us to have such an experienced and influential group of leaders on our board,” said Executive Vice President and Division Executive Sharon Bryant. “Their guidance and recommendations will provide the cornerstones of our banking strategies in this market.”
“As part of First Citizens’ commitment to the Augusta market and investment in the community, we’ve selected three complementary locations that will provide additional convenience to customers,” said Mobley. These include a medical center location at 702 13th Street in Augusta, a branch in the 400 block of Bel Air in Evans, and a property in the Fury’s Ferry area. Construction on these sites should be completed by the end of 2009. “We’re committed to our partnerships with the medical and business communities, and these locations will allow us to best serve our customers in these areas,” Mobley added. Other locations in the Augusta footprint are being considered for future expansion opportunities.
