Payment Security Insurance

First Citizens has partnered with the Compromised Data Security Program, an insurance program that can assist our merchants with expenses they incur from a suspected or actual breach of card data. Underwritten by Great American Insurance Group, the program provides $50,000 of data breach insurance coverage, which includes:

• Coverage for forensic audit expenses resulting from an actual or suspected data breach
• Coverage for Payment Card Industry data security standards fines that result from an actual or suspected data breach
• Coverage for card replacement and card portfolio monitoring costs
• Coverage for data breaches that result from hacking, skimming, and even physical losses resulting from employee dishonesty or third-party theft of computer or paper records

There is a $0 deductible. The program is comprehensive and is required on all First Citizens merchant accounts. The monthly charge is only $6, and it will be shown as a separate line item on the merchant’s billing statement.
